Managing Personal On Hold Messages

This articleguide describesexplains how end users and moderatorsyou can manage on on-hold queuesemails in the Mimecast Personal Portal.Portal. MessagesYou can be releasedrelease or rejectedreject eitheremails individually or in bulk. EndIf users,you butare an end user (not moderateda users,moderator), you can also block addressessenders or domains when releasing or rejecting messages.

Important: Images in held messages are released or rejected.

Images aren't automaticallynot displayed forautomatically. held messages. End usersYou can choose to download thesethem, forbut each message, after  consideringconsider the security riskrisks ofbefore doing so.

Releasing a Message

To release a message:

  1. Log in to the Personal Portal.
  2. Click on the Advanced icon.
  3. Select Personal On Hold from the menu.
  4. Filter the messages have been held by security
    policies.

    Your administrator may have policies in place that place messages on hold. These could be based on spam, attachment,From,
    or content Reason examination(optional).

The Personal On Hold viewer allows you to viewsee thethese held emails that have been held, and decide if you wantwhether to release them or reject them.


Rejecting a Message


To reject a message:

  1. Log in to the Personal Portal.
  2. Click on the Advanced icon.
  3. Select Personal On Hold from the menu.
  4. Filter the messages by Subject, To, From, or Reason (optional).
  5. Select one or more messages.
  6. Click the Reject icon and choose the desired action.

Automatic Removal

If you do notdon’t release or reject a message from the Hold queue within 14 days,days, it iswill be automatically removed.deleted. You'llHowever, if your administrator has enabled email archiving, you may still be able to retrieve theit email from the archive, if this is configured by your Administrator.later.


Rejecting
a Message


To reject a message:

1. Login to the Personal Portal

2, Click on the Advanced Icon.

3. Select Personal

Moderated On Hold from the menu.

4. Filter the list of messages by Subject, To, From or Reason.

5. Select one or more message.

6. Select the (Reject) icon and select one of the following desired actions:

Releasing a Message

To release a message:

1. Login to the Personal Portal

2. Select the Advanced Icon.

3. Select Personal On Hold from the menu.

4. Filter the list of messages by Subject, To, From or Reason.

5. Select one or more message.

6. Click on the (Release) Icon and select one of the following desired actions

Viewer

The Moderated On Hold viewer worksfunctions in a similar waysimilarly to the Personal On Hold viewer but willis display emails held for other users. For example, you may be ableused to manage held emails for aother colleagueusers (e.g., colleagues or yourmanagers). manager.However, The only difference is that this usermoderators cannot block or permit userssenders or domains.domains.

Note: This functionalityfeature must be enabled by youran Administrator,Administrator. and byBy default, no emails will notbe showdisplayed anyunless emails.permissions are granted.
